Victorian, circa 1870 George Jones Majolica cheese dome and stand, decorated with flowering dog rose branches on brown textured ground. Branch molded handle on top of dome, with further flowering branches sprouting from either end. Air hole underneath the handle. Turquoise interior with a painted mark on the edge and three stilt marks at the top. Stand decorated with a large green leaf on brown textured ground. Typical GJ mottled glazes to reverse. Three stilt marks inside the foot along with impressed maker''s marks and GJ monogram. Good. Dome: Small restored rim chip. Stand: Slight wear around the inner rim. Slightly stained crazing to the front. Two repairs to the rim. 10.5ins high, 12.5ins diameter (stand)
