Victorian, circa 1880 Thomas Forester & Sons Majolica cheese dome and stand. Cobalt dome molded with four panels separated by a bamboo border. Each panel is decorated with a stork amongst reeds and pond lilies. Bamboo molded handle and dragonflies on top of the dome. Green interior with a painted mark. The stand is molded with pond lily leaves and flowers around the edge on a light green ground. Mottled green and brown glazes to center and underside. Painted mark in reserve to underside. Similar piece illustrated on page 111, Abrams ''Majolica A complete History and illustrated Survey'' by Karmason & Stacke. Good. Dome: Flakes to exterior. Slight wear to the cobalt ground. Repaired crack to side. Restored chip to stork wing. Stand: Flaking around the upper edge and under rim. Small bruise to under rim. Some wear to the center. Restored rim chip. 12ins high, 11ins diameter
