Royal Doulton circa 1924 to 1940s pot. Pattern is Hunting - John Peel. Shows two huntsmen leading their horses past a sign post pointing to "Home". No doubt either after the hunt, or after they lost the pack and the trail. Very similar in colours and effect to the Coaching Days series. Same artist. Unusual shape, possibly once had a lid, but has a painted green band to the top, so maybe not. Could be for shaving brushes. Measures 77 mm high and the base is 85 mm diameter (just over 3 inches by 3.3/8 inches). Has a small mark inside the rim and a tiny tight hairline there about 7 ,, long (1/4 inch), but very fine. Excellent condition overwise.
