Isn't this guy great? He's just the cutest thing!
I believe this cookie jar is from the 1950's or so. He was produced by American Bisque / Cardinal and is whimsical in every way, from the expression on his face to the "Go ahead Make a pig of yourself" printed between his ears.
This little piggy measures approximately 7 3/4" in height and 9" at the widest points. It is free of chips, but does have quite a bit of crazing and discoloration at the bottom, both inside and out. I have seen 3 or 4 of these particular cookie jars, and the crazing seems to be the norm with these as all I've seen have the same. He's still just cute as a bug and would look great in any kitchen!
