Potpourri and openwork cover made by Worcester Grainger, 1870-80 in the George Owen reticulated style.Just under 3 1/2inches high and 4 1/2inches from side to side.Exquisitely modelled in cream porcelain with scrolling handles like folded acanthus leaves, at either end. All edges gilded. Naturalistically floral-form finial with rich gilding.Openwork of cover resembles a symbolic Celtic tree and pattern of bottom openwork is also Celtic in it''s interlacing overlapping design.Both lid and pot are marked with the Grainger mark used 1870-80 (no England/Made in England).
