Very early jeweled cobalt blue and gold porcelaine perfume / scent bottle with handpainted bird & flowers. English, possibly early Derby, 18th to early 19th century. Measures approx 2 5/8inches high. Round foot with squat round body. Cobalt blue ground with delicate gold patterns. A reserve front and back, outlined in gold scrolls with superbly handpainted vignettes - one of a multi-coloured bird pecking at a branch, a small insect adding intrigueing interest. The other reserve floral with roses, morning glory, dahlias and other tiny red blossoms. Very beautiful detail. Long, cylindrical neck with 2 rows of raised jewels. Matching lid with gold star on top. The part of the lid that fits inside the bottle was cracked and poorly mended (see ''photos). Otherwise, condition is very good.
