This is a charming piece of art pottery made by artist Laurie Hettig of Colorado Art Pottery in the 1990''s. The company has featured artists who showed in the Contemporary Arts and Crafts Expo. I bought the different whimsical items each year to show in my store. They always sold well to people with a good sense of humor. This item is an unglazed mouse sitting on a high glaze broken heart of an earthen rusty color. The mouse has black glass eyes and hold a piece of glass that looks like turquoise. He holds it as if it is a treasure. The CP stamp appears on the side of the object. I personally think it is adorable and it fit perfectly with my Arts & Crafts decorator side. The piece is in excellent condition with only one glaze slip on the backbone. It is perfect for gift giving to a like minded soul with a good sense of humor.
