Victorian, circa 1870 Staffordshire spill vase in the form of a peach colored horse with black mane and tail, standing in front of a tree. Legs molded free. Dull gilt base line. Orange spill interior with dull gilt around the rim. Similar piece illustrated figure 2988, page 255, Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding. Good. No hairlines. Small paint loss to bridle and front left hoof. Kiln effects: glaze miss to the horse''s rump; fine crazing to the horse. Repair to spill branch. Repaired crack to front left leg.
