Victorian, circa 1850 Staffordshire spill vase modeled as two seated girls, one with a cat drinking some milk at her feet, and the other with a pot on her lap, teasing a begging spaniel. Composed of a number of separately molded subjects. Dull gilt decoration with scroll detail to base front. Hollow underside. Generally good. Tight hairlines to the reverse, one running up and over the right hand girl''s dress. Another to the front of the base. No chips. Slight abrasion to spaniel''s muzzle. Minor paint losses to their shoes, one girl''s mouth, and the spaniel''s ear. Some rubbing to gilt. Kiln effects: shrinkage cracks to the underside; glaze miss to the base at the right hand side. Repaired hairline to base front. Repaired crack to reverse running up over reverse of left hand girl''s dress. Left hand girl''s right hand restored. 5ins high
