Victorian, circa 1860 Staffordshire spill vase modeled as two russet and white cows standing over a recumbent sheep below. Spill in the form of a tree with leaves on either side and a pink interior. Decorated with blue shredded clay. Dull gilt decoration and base line. Similar piece illustrated figure 2897, page 241, Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding. Very good. No restoration. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. No flakes. Slight rubbing to gilt. Kiln effect: a few shrinkage marks to reverse. 8.5ins high
