This fine pair of Eighteenth Century vases is thickly glazed in rich cobalt blue on the outside, and with turquoise glazing on the interiors of the tops and on the bottoms. Probably intended for joss-sticks at an altar, each vase has a cylindrical central interior with reticulated sides lending a graceful octagonal baluster form to the vases. Relief molding of stylized mountains and cloud-bands encircle the body and the reticulated cartouches and top edges are highlighted in gilt. Approximately 5-3/4 inches tall and 2-1/2 inches across the top. Chinese, circa 1760.
