Victorian, circa 1880 Majolica posy vase in the form of a shield. Four panels relief molded with lions. Scroll molded base with shell at either end, and a ribbon under the shield impressed with ''DEU. ET M''. Exterior decorated with brown, green, ochre and pink glazes. Light green interior. Brown bark like molding to underside. Good. No restoration. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. A couple of tiny flakes to rim. Kiln effects: fine shrinkage line to the rim on interior; brown glaze run to exterior; shield mounted slightly askew on the base. 6.75ins high
