Victorian, circa 1880 Majolica posy vase in the form of a cobalt wicker basket. A white cat on one side peers around at a mouse on the front of the basket. Molded on a brown oval base with green cloth over the top. Turquoise interior to basket. Ochre glaze and three stilt marks to underside. Good. No cracks. No flakes. Kiln effects: firing pit, couple of glaze pops, shrinkage mark and staining to interior of basket; firing pit to exterior of basket and another on top of base; pitting to underside. Repaired hairline to basket. Restored chip to rim and cat''s right ear. 3.25ins high
