Circa 1890 Majolica Palissy posy vase modeled as a circular brown pot decorated with a flowering branch, on top of a support which is surrounded by squid like tentacles. Mottled green and brown circular base, with pale yellow glaze underneath. Green interior to pot. Good. No restoration. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. Flaking of original paint to the tentacles (usually all the original paint is missing completely, from the tentacles), and one to base rim. Kiln effect: over glazed shrinkage crack to base. 5.75ins high
