Baluster shaped vase by Boch Freres Keramis. Excellent condition, no damage. Marked on bottom B.F.K. in hand script over a line with 12 under the line, the number 271(or 274) incised. This pattern number (12) does exist in the Boch Freres Keramis archives and was only used with this form. Brick colored base, bottom, exterior and interior. Exquisite colors in the metallic iridized detail glazes on a rich brown base; design of ivy leaves and berries, with a band at the neck of stylized flower roundels between scroll accents. The techniques used to place the design on the body of the vase is called chalcography. Art Nouveau period, before 1900 (by the style number). France, circa early 1885-1895. Excellent condition, turning marks on the vase original to manufacture. Dimensions: 10.32 inches high x 7.3 inches diameter at the body.
