For sale is a nice piece of art pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is "Zephyr Lily" and the shape is a Double Handled Flaring Vase. The Vase measures 7 5/16" tall and is 4 7/8" in diameter outside top measurement. The Base or Foot of the Vase measures 4 1/16" in diameter.
The Vase depicts tall lilies with slender stems and leaves in the background. The Flowers and Leaves are done in Raised Relief. The Background Glaze is blended from Moss Green To Sienna Brown. The Flowers are glazed in a Cream Color and the leaves in Sage Green. There are applied Handles that start at the foot and are joined at the waist of the vessel. This form is desirable and shows minimal signs of previous use.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The piece is signed with the raised relief mark which reads "Roseville U.S.A." along with its shape number 132-7" also in raised relief. There is also a Letter H written in grease and an incised "6" below and to the left of the mold number. These were more than likely the finishers marks.
This is a wonderful quality Roseville Vase that is in excellent condition. I'm quite sure the buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. This vase was made Circa 1946.
