Pair circa 1880-90 art glass vases, Pompeian Swirl, Stevens and Williams, rare gloss finish, shaded double amberina glass exterior with spiral ribbed pattern, cased/layered interior is opaque peach, dimpled sides, finely enameled/double color florals with raised gilt branches in the manner done at Stevens & Williams, handworked scalloped rim.
7†tall, 3.5†wide/4†across corners.

- These fine vases has a “double amberina†glass exterior that fades from amber in the middle to rose colors at rim and base with an opaque peach interior lining.
- This is not a typical Pompeian Swirl “pearl†glass item…possibly being an experimental or similar fine art glass from the Victorian period. It has a gloss ribbed surface rather than the acid treated and flattened surface of typical Pompeian Swirl.
- Stevens and Williams, England introduced their pearl satin glass as “Verre de Soie†developed by Frederick Carder in 1886 featuring the trapped air bubble that extended from the base to rim of each article.
