Large pair of "Vienna Style" painted mantel vases. Each vase features a different dramatic painted scene in a large oval panel and a second smaller front panel with a white back round and scene in gold of a swan on water. Each vase also has several other small white with gold panels. The basic back round color is a jewel toned red with lots of gold decoration, much of it raised. The large panels are beautifully done with very fine color and detail and are signed " Lisbel". Very good original condition, with wear to the gilded top rim on one, the second vase has a tight hairline crack and filled small chip to the flared rim. Fresh from a local Brooklyn estate. Marked "Victoria Austria". 15 1/4" tall x 7" wide. Price 850 for the pair.
