This is a fine large Chinese porcelain blue and white antique ginger jar I’m releasing from my private collection. The jar dates from the 1700s and is in excellent condition, with no damage apart from one tiny chip to the inner foot rim. It is hand painted in blue with a Chinese riverscape. The large rounded ginger jar stands on an unglazed foot rim and is painted around the body with a continuous scene in naïve style with a building set amidst trees with mountains in the background along side a river. A man sits on the bank fishing while two sailing boats drift past. The jar is painted in blue on a white ground with the top rim and shoulder unglazed. The Chinese antique market is rising rapidly, making the piece an excellent financial investment.
