Rare & Important Early 19th Century Classical Pair of Paris Porcelain Decorative Urns Attributed To: Nast. Each of ovoid form flanked by upright handles molded with flowerheads, foliage and swan head terminals, each painted on the obverse with an Italianate landscape depicting cavaliers on horseback seeking directions from a rustic figure, the reverse with gilt hunting trophy, the whole embellished with tooled matte and burnished gilt stiff leaves and flowers on a cobalt blue ground, raised on a circular foot and square plinth. Height: 15'' Each urn has survived in a superb state of preservation without damage, repair or restoration. Only slight minor customary rubbing to gilt decoration due to occassional handling over 200 years. A rare pair executed by an accomplished maker. Perfect for the Classical collector.
