Rare Derby vase, of urn shape, with straight sided body sitting on a spreading foot, the lower body gadrooned, the foot moulded with acanthus leaves, the rim mounted with two large goats heads, the body painted with a Kakiemon style pattern of flowers reserved on iron red ground with chrysanthemum mons, the foot with similar decoration.
Patch marks to base, also inscribed '52'

References: This rare form is apparently unrecorded in the literature. Another example is in the Lorraine Rosenberg Reference Collection in Geelong, with a rams head handle rather than a goat. The absence of gold, and naive style of painting suggests that this piece
