Victorian, circa 1860 Staffordshire tureen modeled as a brown and white hen with her seven chicks. One of the chicks is perched on her back, the others peep out from underneath. Good. No hairlines. No chips. A few small paint losses to edge of hen wing, hen and chick beak. Paint loss to inside of tail feather. Repaired crack to underside. Retouching to chick beaks, tureen rim, hen wing, tail, head and back. 6.5ins high, 6.75ins wide
