Victorian, circa 1870 Staffordshire tureen and cover in the form of a duck on water. The cover is modeled in the form of a duck, and the tureen the water. Bright gilt decoration to the duck feathers. Vent hole and a painted gilt mark to underside of cover. Good. Shallow chip to flange of cover. No hairlines. No paint losses. Some rubbing to gilt. Kiln effects: two shrinkage cracks to the underside of cover, and one to interior of tureen; two pieces of kiln detritus to the duck''s tail; slightly ill fitting cover. Restored chip to tail. 5.75ins high, 8.75ins wide
