This studio tile plaque has an excellent mid century design. The clay slab was perforated and pulled to make it highly dimensional and has applied decoration. Four flowers are at the corners with an incised hole in the center which have been used to attach the piece to a distressed wood board. Attributed to California artist Martin Rudick, there is an old photo and article from the Los Angeles Times decribing his mural work in the soon to be opened Orange County Airport.
