This antique tile was made by the Mosaic Tile Company of Zanesville Ohio. The design is by the famous 19th Century English illustrator Walter Crane. On top, the tile is titled ''There Was a Lady Loved a Swine''. The nursery rhyme is: There was a lady loved a swine, ''Honey!'' said she; ''Pig hog, wilt thou be mine?'' ''Hunc!'' said he. The design shows a woman in classical dress and a large pig at his trough. The back is marked ''Mosaic''. The edges of the tile are glazed in blue, so the intention was to use this as a trivet. The condition is very good with a couple of surface scratches to the front. Combined shipping is always available at Bungalow BILL!
