Titled ''The Horseman'' in their catalog, This tile shows an ancient rider on a rearing horse. The central design is in a glossy black glaze. The background of a matte apple green is framed by a matte black border. This faience tile is nearly 3/4 inch thick. The condition is fine. The face is unworn, but there ia a shallow flake on the right edge and bottom edge that have been colored in. The back shows the impressed mark of Franklin Pottery Faience of Landsdale Pennsylvania.
