This is a very nice example of the glazing techniques used by the American Tile companies. The color has a chrystalline and iridescent quality. The ''oil spotting'' of the darker tan plays well against the gold ground. It is made from a thick cream colored faience clay and is 1/2 inch thick. There are two small corner chips, and the impressed mark peeks out under a thin layer of grout on the back.
