The Bird of Paradise is one of the world''s most beautiful birds. They use their exotic plumage in a fabulous mating ritual to attract a mate by flipping up their tail and fluttering their wings. This is an excellent representation of this species done by the tile company Richard''s of England in the early part of the 20th century. The glazing and shading is fabulous. These birds are native to Indonesia, so it is fitting that these tiles are set into a faux bamboo frame. The condition is very good, but both tiles have a few chips, which are not very distracting. This panel is ready to hang on your wall. Status: For Sale Reference#: 02032008 Condition: very good Year: early 20th century Country: England Maker: Richards Height: 12.75 in.
