This is a wonderful antique tile with a highly modelled face of a fawn. Executed in an unglazed red brick faience clay, fingermarks are still evident on the sides showing the handmade nature. The face has a nice dark patina. The back is unmarked, but attributed to Enfield Pottery of Pennsylvania from the clay body and style. The condition is very good. It has a couple of chips and shrinkage lines in the clay. It''s a hefty and solid piece!
