This Arts and Crafts tile was made at the American Encaustic Tile Company of Zanesville Ohio. All hand decorated in a squeeze-bag design, it features an image of a pig in a pen. The detail is superb, down to the nail-heads on fence. It is in excellent unused condition, with one ding to the rear hip of the pig. This tile was photographed for the book, The Encyclopedia Of American Art Tile by Norman Karlson, and can be found in Volume 2, page 55. A rare and desirable example.
