This galleon ship tile by Rookwood is one of the cleanest and most pristine examples I have seen. From the collection of Bernice Lyon, one of the first collectors of American Art Tiles, this example has a sharp mold, was never installed, and is in superb condition. The waves protrude proudly from the front of the tile undamaged. Rarely does one see and this form so nice. The front has gentle crazing, the back has one small flake off the tope edge. It has the impressed marks for the Rookwood Faience dividion of the pottery. Status: For Sale Reference#: 05062607 Condition: excellent Year: c. 1910''s Country: USA Maker: Rookwood Height: 8 in.
