This is a highly carved tile depicting a camel made by the Cambridge Wheatley Company. Glazed in matte brown, the thick glaze pools in the recesses. Only in business for a relatively short period between 1927 and 1936 tiles by this company are not very common. This is a thick and heavy Arts and Crafts tile that shows very well. Condition is fine, the face being unmarked. There is a chip to a back corner that is unseen from the front.
