Signed tiles by Hugh Robertson are extremely rare and hard to come by. He worked at Chelsea Keramic and Dedham Pottery, where he dedicated his life to achieving the lost Chinese red glaze sang de boeuf. This tile shows putti eating grapes from a basket. Nicely glazed, especially the shading in the sky. It may be unclear as to what facility this tile was produced since the back is unmarked, but the cipher on the front makes it undoubtedly by Hugh Robertson. The condition is very good with minor chips to edges and high points. Combined shipping is always available at Bungalow BILL!
