This tile, made by Sherwin Cotton of England is makes in an intaglio process, rendering the image nearly photographic. This tile shows a farmer, pushing a wheelbarrow in front of a large barn. Normally I see this type of tile in a single color glaze. The addition of more colors makes it much more interesting. The condition is very good, with only minor edge flaws, and some staining from soot along the sides where it was enclosed in a fireplace surround. The back is unmarked.
