This antique tile was made at the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works founded by Henry Chapman Mercer. This cutout tile depicts a smiling sun and is covered in a semi gloss yellow glaze. The condition is excellent. There is a factory flaw in one of the deep recesses of the sun''s rays making a hole through the back of the tile. It is unmarked as are most of the old, original tiles.
