This nice ship tile is entitled ''Aves'', one of a series of ships that was made at Henry Chapman Mercer''s Moravian Pottery and Tile Works. The back has no markings, as is the case with old tiles by this pottery. Only the new ones have marks on the reverse as well as a date so as not to be confused with the antique tiles. The condition is very good, but has a few edge flakes and some kiln trash on the right side.
