This tile was made by the American Encaustic Tile Company of Zanesville Ohio, The matte blue and black glazes are accented by a considerable amount of silver glazing. This tile was photographed for the book Encyclopedia of American Art Tile and can be found in Volume 2, page 43. Finding tiles with an art deco motif is daunting. This tile is exceptional.
