Victorian, circa 1880 Majolica teapot modeled as one large fish swallowing a smaller fish. Cream interior. Three stilt marks to base of teapot and inner rim of cover. Drainage holes to interior of spout. Vent hole to cover. Similar piece illustrated on page 138, Abrams ''Majolica A complete History and illustrated Survey'' by Karmason & Stacke. Generally good. No cracks. No hairlines. Slight wear to rim of teapot opening. Kiln effect: minor kiln soot caught in glaze to flange on cover. Restored chip to cover flange, finial, rim, and tip of handle. Retouched flake to spout. Repair across base which goes 2ins up both sides. 6ins high, 10.25ins wide
