Victorian, circa 1880 Majolica teapot modeled as one large fish swallowing a smaller fish. Cream interior. Ochre underside with impressed mark and three stilt marks. Steam hole to cover. Similar piece illustrated on page 138, Abrams ''Majolica A complete History and illustrated Survey'' by Karmason & Stacke. Good. No hairlines. Small flake to lower tail fin and another to spout. Kiln effects: shrinkage cracks to underside; some staining to craze lines to interior and around eyes. Restored chip to spout and inner rim of teapot. 6.5ins high, 11.5ins wide
