Victorian, circa 1870 Majolica Isle of Man teapot modeled as a three legged bearded Manx sailor sitting on a coil of rope. His third leg sticks out behind him to form the spout. Head forms the teapot cover. He wears turquoise trousers, a cobalt blue shirt, a scarf around his neck and a brown hat. Cream interior with drainage holes at base of spout. Brown underside with three stilt marks. Good. Teapot: Small flake to toe of left boot. Kiln effects: some glaze run to exterior; fine kiln soot caught in the glaze to collar. Restored chip to spout foot. Cover: No restoration. Kiln effects: fine kiln soot to forehead; brown glaze run to fringe. 9.25ins high
