A Chinese Export Famille Rose Teapot, Circa 1780-85 The teapot is painted with two identical scenes on each side of a woman outside her home playing with two small boys, framed by an overhanging tree; all against a purple diaper ground under a gilt band and puce twisting rope border. ;The lid is painted with four cartouches, alternating with designs of flower sprigs and landscapes; all against the purple diaper ground and rimmed with the puce twisting rope border and under a stylized gilt flowerhead finial. ;The molded handle is in the form of two intertwining ropes; one small star crack.
