Large English Aesthetic Movement chocolate pot. This is yet another example of the Late Victorian obsession with Asian motifs. Everything about this fine piece of English ceramics is inspired by the Orient, from the flowers and the stylized, raised gold branches to the dragon handle. Fully marked Semi-China, Furnival & Sons England. Good condition with wear to the gilding on the cover and the spout and crackle to the glaze. 10" tall x 8" wide x 4 1/2" deep.
