A truly outstanding C 1770 Worcester teapot together with its stand, beautifully gilded and decorated with festoons of husks and pattera. The same design and pattern can be seen in the Worcester Museum in their star lots section. This teapot and stand formerly part of the renowned collector and author Geoffrey Goddens own collection, latterly the Grice collection. The gilding on the teapot and stand is quite remarkable, it is without any wear at all. The gilding is as bright and vibrant today as when first applied 240 years ago. Apart from one minute chip to the underside of the spout there is no other damage or restoration. Teapot measures 12.5 cm to top of knop. Stand measures 15 cm at widest point.
