C.1760 Chinese Export Tobacco Leaf Platter in the "LADY AND WATER LILY" Pattern. This platter measures 15" X 12" and is in Excellent Condition and has just come out of the owner's estate. He had purchased it and other pieces over 25 years ago. They were purchased from Earle D. Vandekar of Knightsbridge, Inc. This company opened more than 100 years ago in Amsterdam. Their reputation is impeccable and to be able to purchase a item with this provenance is a pleasure and a honor. The family Moved the gallery to London in 1916. After being located on Old Brompton Road for more than 40 years, Knightsbridge was added to the name. During this time, the gallery grew and became well known for carrying high quality 18th and 19th century European and Chinese Export Porcelain. In 1982, Earle Vandekar's son Paul opened the New York branch where he continues his family tradition. After the death of Earle,Paul has focused its energies on New York where the current gallery is located.
