A Magnificent Chinese Export Porcelain Platter. Pearl River House Pattern. Circa 1760 to 1770. Decorated in four registers of blue on pure white porcelain. This house was about 12 miles from Canton on the Pearl River. The pattern is also known as the "Trench Mortar" because of the bamboo stumps rising from the river in front of the house. English factories Spode, Worcester and others later copied this pattern. This platter is in pristine condition, with no cracks, chips, breaks, scuffs or repairs of any kind. Measures 15" X 12" X 1". $2,550 + shipping.
