Victorian, date cipher for 1869 Wedgwood Majolica plate decorated with a heron at the edge of a pond, reeds and bulrushes behind, and a dragonfly above. Pierced basketweave rim adorned with spiky green leaves. Cream reverse with impressed maker''s marks ''W'', ''WEDGWOOD'' and three letter date cipher ''BUX'' for 1869. Designed by Joseph Theodore Deck. Good. No cracks. No hairlines. A few under rim flakes. Some wear to the front. Small restored under rim chip. 9.25ins diameter
