Victorian, circa 1870 Samuel Lear Majolica plate decorated with sunflowers in vases on cream ground. Ochre patterned rim with a slice of citrus fruit on either side which form the handles. Turquoise band decoration across the middle with central citrus slice. Three stilt marks to the front. Cream reverse. Impressed pattern registration diamond and three stilt marks inside the foot. Good. No restoration. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. No flakes. Scratch to the reverse. Kiln effects: some minor glaze run and a stain to the front; uneven glaze application around the rim. 10.75ins diameter
