Circa 1890 Orchies Majolica asparagus plate decorated with overlapping asparagus tips to the center, on turquoise leafy ground. Asparagus leaves and artichokes around the edge. Butter well molded in the form of an artichoke. Washy turquoise reverse with three stilt marks and painted ''17'' mark inside the foot. Similar piece illustrated on page 101, Artichauts et asperges en barbotine, by Maryse bottero. Good. No restoration. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. Some flaking to the rim, and a few small flakes to under rim. 9.75ins diameter
