Victorian, date cipher for 1882 Minton Majolica nine well oyster plate. Central circular mottled well with cockle shell border on brown stipple ground. Surrounded by nine turquoise shell shaped segments with periwinkles, shells and seaweed on gray stipple ground in-between. Turquoise reverse. Three stilt marks inside the foot along with impressed maker''s marks ''MINTONS'', date cipher for 1882 and pattern registration diamond. Good. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. Kiln effect: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to four of the segments. Retouched flake to rim. 10ins diameter
