Circa 1880 Majolica plate decorated with two swans on a river, one pecking at a branch on the river''s edge. Trees and mountains in the background. Border of ivy leaves on pale yellow ground around the edge of the plate. Brown rim. Pale yellow reverse with green tinge and three stilt marks. Impressed marks including ''143'' inside the foot. Generally good. No restoration. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. Some tiny flakes to the rim. Wear to the front and foot. Kiln effect: staining to the mountains. 7.5ins diameter
